Gateshead Riverside Partnership - a collaboration between Gateshead Council, the National Trust, Newcastle University, Northumbria University and Tyne and Wear Building Preservation Trust. The route is being revitalised following the Government awarding Gateshead Riverside Partnership £1.5m of UK SPF funding to improve the route including pathways, signage and artworks along the Tyne Derwent Way. This vital investment means the trail's nature, culture and heritage can be enjoyed by all.
Darklight was asked to design an event for the community space at St Mary's Heritage Centre to be included in the launch of the project. Our program included activities for all ages, seed planting, face painting, juggling, hula hooping, and live music and dance from artists within the Gateshead community.
Darklight provided all lighting and sound equipment.
Darklight provided a stage for the days musical entertainment, this was built and dismantled in one day, with a roof thankfully as it rained for most of the day. Installing power for the stage area and some of the catering on site, with a quick BS7909 sign off before the event opened at 11am, the installation of a 4K PA system and a sound engineer for the event.
