A Magical Christmas 2024
Creative
Darklight designed the experience to specific requirements from the National Trust at Gibside, to cover daytime activities included with the membership entrance and also an additional ticketed event for families to visit Santa and his workshop. This included set dressing, costume, lighting and sound design as well as the seasonal dressing of the Chapel and it's Christmas Trees.
Event Management
Working with the National Trust to create a schedule that works for the public, the site opening hours and the daylight hours, as well as providing staff to run the additional event. This included an Event Manager and a team of performers for the experience.
Equipment Hire
Darklight provided lighting & sound equipment for the stables and the Chapel for seasonal accompaniment and atmosphere.
Installation
Darklight provided a team of specialists to work within the guidelines of the site conservation to install and de-rig both the Stables and the Chapel with minimal disruption to the day-to-day operations of the site.
Witching Hour at the Hall 2024

Darklight designed the experience to specific requirements from the National Trust, to cover daytime activities included with the membership entrance and also an additional ticketed event for after dark where we increase the scare factor. This included set dressing, costume, lighting & sound design as well as the provision of the script, the bespoke escape room style games and sweet treats.
Event Management
Working with the National Trust to create a schedule that works for the public, the site opening hours and sunset, as well as providing staff to run the additional event. This included an Event Manager, tech support and a team of performers for the experience.
Equipment Hire
Darklight provided lighting, sound and staging for both indoors and out. All outdoor equipment is IP rated and all equipment is PAT certified.
Installation
Darklight provided a team of specialists to work within the guidelines of the site conservation to install and de-rig both inside and out with minimal disruption to the day-to-day operations of the site.
Halloween at the Hall 2023
Client: National Trust, Seaton Delaval Hall
Halloween at the Hall, was a project of two parts, to cover both the daytime visitors to the National Trust's Seaton Delaval Hall, and also an after dark audience with the expectation of a scare or two. Based on local ghost stories and legends it brought the building and it's well known characters to life!
Our Role
Darklight were the Design Team for the creative and technical content. Teaming up with The Prop Making Company for the installations within the basement. We also provided the lighting and sound for the full experience on site, and managed the live performance aspect of the event.
